Diffusion in non-magnetic stars and COROT
نویسندگان
چکیده
New developments in the modeling of non-magnetic non-rotating A stars have had a major impact on our understanding of the formation of abundance anomalies in these stars. The great sensitivity of the pulsational properties as well as of the observable chemical composition to the internal mixing processes in chemically peculiar stars make these objects potentially important tools to investigate the depth and nature of that mixing. Some possible implications for the seismology of A and B stars are discussed in light of what the COROT mission could contribute to the study of these stars and of the importance of these objects in the overall success of a mission such as COROT.

Different Magnetic Field Distributions in Deformed Neutron Stars
In this work, we review the formalism which would allow us to model magnetically deformed neutron stars. We study the effect of different magnetic field configurations on the equation of state (EoS) and the structure of such stars. For this aim, the EoS of magnetars is acquired by using the lowest order constraint variational (LOCV) method and employing the AV18 potential....
متن کاملThe COROT mission : From Structure of Stars to Origin of PlanetarySystems
COROT is a space mission approved by the French Space Agency CNES. Its goal is to make a signiicant step forward in the understandig of the origins and destiny of stars and of planetary systems.
متن کاملSpectroscopic determination of the fundamental parameters of 66 B-type stars in the field-of-view of the CoRoT satellite
Aims. We aim to determine the fundamental parameters of a sample of B stars with apparent visual magnitudes below 8 in the field-of-view of the CoRoT space mission, from high-resolution spectroscopy. Methods. We developed an automatic procedure for the spectroscopic analysis of B-type stars with winds, based on an extensive grid of FASTWIND model atmospheres. We use the equivalent widths and/or...
متن کاملSolar-like oscillations in red giants in the CoRoT exo-field
Asteroseismic observations from space can provide us with long time series of uninterrupted high quality data for many stars at the same time. The CoRoT satellite (Convection Rotation and planetary Transits) was launched successfully in December 2006 and provides high precision photometery for a large number of stars. Here we present our research on (late G and K) red giant stars observed durin...
متن کاملDamping rates of solar-like oscillations across the HR diagram
The space-borne missions CoRoT and Kepler are providing a rich harvest of high-quality constraints on solar-like pulsators. Among the seismic parameters, mode damping rates remains poorly understood and are thus barely used to infer the physical properties of stars. Nevertheless, thanks to the CoRoT and Kepler spacecrafts it is now possible to measure damping rates for hundreds of main-sequence...
